Author’s Perspective

The author’s perspective, or viewpoint, is how the author feels about the subject. In order to determine the author’s perspective, you need to figure out what opinion or attitude the author has about the subject.

As an example, I talked to the students about my favorite musician, Justin Timberlake! I have seen the same show of his live in concert 3 times. Each time I saw him, I had a different seat. Therefore, my perspective of the show changed. In books, the authors perspective can change depending on which character is telling the story.

The students loved to see the videos of Justin Timberlake at his shows. Please talk to your students about this at home.
